Arricone Big Band & Erno Tiittanen

In 2013 I’ll introduce a new big band program which is inspired by the music of Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley, recorded originally in 1961. Arranger Erno Tiittanen has created a fresh interpretation with new flavours – cool rhythmic grooves, intensity of tones and when the band plays tutti – they really get wings and fly.

Arricone Big Band is a brand new collaboration amongst the top Finnish jazz musicians, led by arranger and conductor Erno Tiittanen. The new program is also featuring a special guest – the ultimate vibraphone virtuoso Riku Niemi. The album release concert will be held on September 22, in Savoy Theatre in Helsinki.

The program includes: * A Sleepin’ Bee * Dat Dere * Happy Talk * Jeannine * Little Unhappy Boy * Mercy Mercy Mercy * Never Say  Yes * Never Will I Marry  * Save Your Love For Me *  Teaneck *  The Masquarade Is Over  *  The Old Country  *  The Turnaround  * Unit 7  *  Work Song *
